Mumbai: Trend of low registration might change

Since June this year, there has been a decrease in the sale of property in Mumbai when the number of sales’ registrations were calculated. There has been a decline of about 13% till date since May 2012. In comparison to July, the month of August saw a decline of around 5%. However this situation is likely to change in the future.

The fall in sales’ registration has been attributed to lack of new launches, high prices and high rate of interests. However, the onset of the festival season might result in a rise in purchases in the residential sector. Moreover, some industry experts are of the opinion that this trend will not continue with the opening up of foreign direct investment in the retail sector.
