Mumbai: AI might give office space on rent at Nariman Point

As Air India has over 22 floors in a building at Nariman Point but it requires not more than three floors, it is possible that it will rent office spaces to interested parties including State Bank of India, Citibank, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and the Service Tax Department. A decision is expected to be taken on 5 October 2012 in a meeting which will take place in New Delhi.

The rental price will be decided to be equal to or above a value agreed upon mutually. Air India has also hired the services of a property consultant to facilitate this realty deal. Air India is expected to raise INR500 Cr. by selling and renting property at the end of this financial year.
